The iOS and Android apps currently connect to your stores using XML-RPC. While XML-RPC works well in most cases, it can in some instances be effected by restrictions on certain hosting platforms and security plugins.
If you are experiencing an XML-RPC file access or connection error, it’s likely that FooSales is being permanently or temporarily blocked from connecting to your website. This might be due to a security plugin or your website hosting company blocking access.
Please ask your hosting company to advise if the IP address of your device has been blocked from accessing the site. If this is the case, you can request your ISP to do the following:
- Whitelist the rule triggered by your IP address
- Disable the Mod_security rule for your domain
If this doesn’t solve the problem, you can try the following:
- Rename ‘xmlrpc.php‘ in the root folder of your website to ‘rpc_requests.php‘
- Download, install and activate this plugin which caters for the renamed ‘xmlrpc.php’ file
NB: We recommend that you download ‘xmlrpc.php’ to your local machine, rename it to ‘rpc_requests.php’ and then upload it again so that both files exist on your site and you don’t overwrite the original file.
